The mission of Community Bible Church is to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. The vision of our church is to glorify our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, to make true disciples throughout all the nations by means of missionary activity and support, to minister the ordinances, to edify believers, and to do all that is sovereignly possible and biblically permissible to magnify the name of Jesus.
Extended Leadership Team: Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.
Pastor Kemuel Pruitt, Senior Pastor
As the primary teaching pastor, Pastor Kemuel has a passion for carefully and enthusiastically communicating the truths of Scripture. He has served at French Broad for 17 years. He and his wife Melissa, have two children and two dogs. Earlier in life, Kemuel worked as a Bereavement Counselor, College Professor, Pizza Delivery Driver, Farm Hand, Bus Driver and Country Store Owner. He loves the outdoors, photography, and bringing hope to people in need.
Pastor Joshua Heatherly, Student Pastor
Pastor Joshua’s main responsibility includes outreach and ministry to middle and high school students. In addition, Joshua supports our children and family ministries and assists the pastor as needed. Joshua and his wife, Natalie came to French Broad in January of 2019 and are exicted to be a part of the team bringing the hope and healing of Christ to our community. Joshua enjoys competitive weight-lifting, powdered sugar doughnuts, and restoring his 1972 Volkswagen Beetle.
Linda Boyle-Smith, Minister of Music
The Bible has a lot to say about music, and Linda’s role is to lead the church’s worship of God in a way that matches the character of God. Linda is an accomplished singer, song-writer and musician. She has written, sung and produced her own CD entitled -“I Have A Friend”. Linda is married to Scott and they have two children. She enjoys visiting theme parks with her family (especially Dollywood) and time her dog, Isabella.
Liza Bannister, Nursery & Preschool Coordinator
Shelia Mason, Church Secretary
Shelia is responsible for the function of the day-to-day operations in the office her at French Broad Baptist. Married to John W. Mason, Pastor of Main Street Baptist in Hendersonville. Her Son, Brian Mason, is a Canadian law enforcement officer in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She Co-owns Green Meadow Farm, where she and John raise registered Belted Galloway cattle, also known as “Oreo” cows.
